How Old Is Lisa Hogan?
The best-supported answer is 55.
On August 14, 1996, The Irish Times reported that Lisa Hogan was 25 years old after she survived a Learjet crash near RAF Northolt in west London. The report was published immediately after the accident, making it far closer to the event than later celebrity biographies.
Jeremy Clarkson also publicly celebrated Hogan’s birthday on May 28 in 2025. Combining a May 28 birthday with her documented age of 25 in August 1996 supports a birth date of May 28, 1971.
That makes Lisa Hogan 55 after her May 2026 birthday.
Why Are Different Ages Listed for Lisa Hogan?
Readers may encounter websites describing Hogan as 51, 52, 53 or another age. Some entertainment publications have listed birth years such as 1974 or 1975. Even established media have occasionally used ages that conflict with the 1996 reporting.
The contemporary Irish Times report provides a stronger historical anchor: Hogan was identified by name as a 25-year-old actress in August 1996. Her May 28 birthday is supported separately by Clarkson’s birthday tribute. For that reason, 1971 is the most defensible birth year from the available evidence.
Who Is Lisa Hogan?
Lisa Hogan was born and raised in Dublin. She is the daughter of architect Maurice Hogan and former model Arlene Underwood. An Irish Independent profile states that she attended Alexandra College in Dublin and lost her father when she was 14. Her mother later married Raymond Keaveney, a former director of the National Gallery of Ireland.
Hogan initially worked in modelling and later became involved in acting. Her screen career included a role in the 1997 comedy Fierce Creatures, starring John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin. IMDb also credits her with Clarkson’s Farm and Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen.
Her career later moved toward visual art. She worked as a sculptor before concentrating more heavily on Diddly Squat Farm and its retail operation. In an interview with Country & Town House, Hogan said she had put her sculpture work aside to devote herself to developing the farm shop and the wider Diddly Squat brand.
The Plane Crash Lisa Hogan Survived at 25
One of the most significant events in Hogan’s early adulthood occurred in 1996.
On August 13 of that year, she was the only passenger aboard a Spanish Learjet 25 that overshot the runway at RAF Northolt and struck a vehicle on a nearby dual carriageway. She was travelling to London to rehearse for a John Cleese film. The Irish Times reported the following day that the 25-year-old actress had escaped the crash.
Hogan discussed the experience again decades later. In a 2024 interview, the Irish Independent described how the accident influenced her attitude toward life and mortality. She recalled realizing after the crash that life could end unexpectedly.
The incident is also useful biographically because the original 1996 report provides unusually strong evidence for establishing her age.
From Modelling and Acting to Clarkson’s Farm
Hogan became familiar to a much larger television audience after appearing in Amazon Prime Video’s Clarkson’s Farm.
The series follows Jeremy Clarkson’s attempts to operate his farm in Oxfordshire, but Hogan has developed a distinct role rather than appearing simply as Clarkson’s partner. She has been closely involved with the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, including product development, marketing and dealing with customers and local suppliers.
In a 2022 interview, Hogan described the shop as her “baby” and discussed developing and packing products while working with producers located close to the farm. She has also spoken about how the television series helped audiences understand the financial pressures involved in producing food.
The Irish Independent similarly identified running the Diddly Squat shop as one of her most important roles in the farming business.
Her work has continued beyond the shop. In 2026, Farmers Weekly reported that Hogan and her son Wolfe Bentinck launched Only Farmers, an app designed to help farms promote experiences, stays and services directly to consumers while also providing a marketplace for agricultural businesses.
Lisa Hogan and Jeremy Clarkson
Hogan and Jeremy Clarkson have been together since around 2017. In an interview with Country & Town House, Hogan was described as Clarkson’s partner of seven years at the time of publication, while she has also discussed their relationship and life together on RTÉ Radio 1.
Clarkson was born on April 11, 1960, making him roughly 11 years older than Hogan when the 1971 birth year is used. His 65th birthday was documented by The Independent in April 2025.
Hogan had previously been married to Baron Steven Bentinck. She has three children from her earlier marriage, a detail she discussed during her 2024 RTÉ interview.
Despite Clarkson’s greater fame before Clarkson’s Farm, the series presents Hogan as an active participant in the business, particularly where retail, animals and product development are concerned.
